How many restroom stations does your event really need?

June 26, 2026 · 2 min read

It is the question we are asked most often, and the one most likely to be answered with a shrug: how many restroom stations does an event actually need? Too few and you get lines that pull guests away from the celebration; too many and you have paid for capacity nobody used. Here is the framework our specialists use to get it right.

The baseline ratio

For a standard event of up to four hours, plan for roughly one station per 50 to 75 guests. A 150-guest wedding, then, lands comfortably in a four-station suite; a 400-guest gala wants eight or more. This baseline assumes a fairly even crowd and a typical bar service — it is a starting point, not the final answer.

The factors that change it

Several variables push your number up:

Two worked examples

A 120-guest evening wedding, open bar, four hours. The baseline suggests two stations, but the open bar and evening timing nudge it up — a three-station suite keeps things flowing with no lines after the ceremony.

A 600-guest corporate festival, eight hours, multiple bars. Baseline math points to eight-plus stations, and the long duration plus alcohol confirm it. A high-capacity unit with a dedicated attendant is the right call here.

Do not forget accessibility

Every event should include at least one ADA-accessible station with a ramp, grab bars, and a spacious layout. It is the right thing to do, it is often required, and your guests will notice the care.

How we calculate it

When you request a quote we look at your guest count, event length, service style, and venue together — then recommend a configuration with a sensible margin so the restrooms never become the bottleneck. Share those details and we will give you a specific, no-guesswork recommendation.
